Fosston All-School Reunion & Quasquicentennial, July 3-5, 2007

Come join the reunion committee for tea from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. as you pick up your registration packet at the Fosston high school. Tours will be given of both the high school and the elementary school every hour starting at 1:30pm. Sather will also be giving a presentation of her research of the prairie lands of Minnesota at 3:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m. registration will continue at “Reunion Central” downtown Fosston with the beer gardens opening at the same time. Make sure you come hungry because there will be an all school/all city walleye fry with all the fixings. The Fosston Fire Department with the help of the Bemidji Fire Department will be hosting the walleye fry. The meal will be open to all alumni and all residents of Fosston with dinner serving from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. The night’s entertainment, Fosston Idol, will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The FHS All School Reunion and Fosston’s 125th Anniversary Committee is thrilled to announce Thursday, July 3, 2008’s night entertainment. We will be hosting the first ever American Idol-style “Fosston Idol.” Phil Elkhe will be emceeing the night with 3 area judges. The event will be held on the outdoor stage at “Reunion Central” downtown Fosston. There will be a first, second and third place prizes of $1,000.00, $500.00 and $250.00. The format of the event may change depending on the amount of entries. If there is a large amount of entries there will be a try out session where the judges will decide if the participant will be singing in front of the crowd. However, the night of the competition the crowd will be the ultimate judge of the winners. This will be done by dropping dried beans in a clear cylinder with each participant having their own cylinder. If you would like to participate please contact Leah Hemmingsen at 218-435-1454. Participants must be an FHS alumnus or live in the Fosston school district. Participants will be required to provide their own background music in CD format.

Following the Fosston Idol Contest, dance to SLOG. This band will keep you dancing until 12:30 a.m.

Rise and shine to a pancake breakfast at Reunion Central. The Rotary Club will be serving all-you-can-eat pancakes with bacon and sausage to all FHS alumni and families and Fosston residents.

At 10:00 a.m. Games Galore will open at Reunion Central. These inflated games will entertain the whole family for a day of fun.

Friday afternoon will also be a time for the individual classes to meet and to build their float for the parade.

At 3:00 p.m. the Lengby Ladies will be hosting a picnic for all FHS alumni at Spring Lake.

4:00 p.m. the beer gardens will open in preparation for the street dance. We are thrilled to announce The Front Fenders have been booked for the street dance. From Elvis to AC/DC to Johnny “Cougar” Mellencamp, they bring a high-octane performance all night long.

Saturday morning the individual classes will be able to put last minute touches on their float before line up.

At 9:00 a.m. the Hanlon run/walk competition will start. Meet at the Fosston Elementary Softball Field. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m. parade line up will begin with the help of the Fosston Lions club. The Parade will kick off at 1:00 p.m.

There will be an alumni band performing on a flatbed trailer for the parade. Please bring your instrument if you'd like to participate. If you no longer have an instrument but would still like to participate contact Bob Saeter at 435-1422.
